To lead the development and execution of Woolmark's global trade marketing strategy, delivering industry-leading programs, campaigns and content that strengthen engagement across the global textile and apparel value chain.

Job Title: Senior Trade Marketing Manager

POSITION PURPOSE

Working closely with Product Innovation, Certification, Regional Marketing and Content teams, this role is responsible for developing compelling trade marketing initiatives that position Woolmark as the global authority on wool innovation, technical performance and design excellence.

The role oversees the marketing strategy for Woolmark's key trade platforms and programs including Wool Source, Woolmark for Business, Wool Lab Journal, the Woolmark Performance Challenge, Outer Innovation Project, trade show marketing, the International Woolmark Prize and Milan Design Week support, ensuring projects are strategically aligned, commercially relevant and delivered to a consistently high standard.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Actively contribute to ensuring Woolmark's Marketing team achieves its objectives and delivers on KPIs across global trade marketing, industry engagement, innovation, content and strategic partnerships.

Wool Source

Lead the brand and marketing strategy development of Woolmark's new digital sourcing trade platform.

  • Manage the design, development and ongoing enhancement of the Wool Source website.
  • Work closely with digital and communications teams to develop the platform roadmap, ensuring content supports Woolmark's innovation and technical priorities.
  • Coordinate content development with internal subject matter experts.
  • Manage external web development agencies and platform enhancements.

Woolmark for Business Content Strategy

Lead the implementation and ongoing evolution of Woolmark's trade content strategy

  • Oversee successful implementation of the new Woolmark for Business EDM content strategy.
  • Conduct weekly planning meetings with the Global Editor to ensure efficient delivery, editorial planning and alignment across projects.
  • Coordinate closely with the Global Content team to ensure all trade content aligns with Woolmark's broader brand content strategy and campaign calendar.
  • Develop engaging industry content including market insights, innovation stories, trend analysis and technical thought leadership.
  • Measure content performance and optimise future editorial planning using audience insights.

Woolmark Performance Challenge

Partner with the Education & Capability team to support the successful delivery and promotion of the Woolmark Performance Challenge, ensuring the program is positioned as a leading industry initiative that showcases wool innovation and engages future industry talent.

  • Collaborate with the Education & Capability team to develop and deliver the annual marketing and communications plan for the Woolmark Performance Challenge.
  • Develop campaign messaging, creative assets and promotional materials across owned, earned and partner channels.
  • Coordinate campaign timelines and stakeholder engagement to support program delivery.
  • Work with regional marketing teams to amplify the program across key markets.
  • Manage campaign communications, content production and promotional activities throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Support winner announcements, case studies and post-program storytelling to maximise industry engagement.
  • Monitor campaign performance and provide reporting and recommendations for future program enhancements.

Trade Marketing

Lead the trade marketing strategy, with support from the Trade and Content teams to create an industry-leading program of content, events and communications that positions Woolmark as an authority on wool and textile innovation.

  • Support the Education & Capability and Comms team to develop the annual editorial strategy and publication calendar in collaboration with the Trade and Content teams.
  • Create promotional strategy for Woolmark’s educational and technical services including retailer training and online courses.
  • Commission and manage external creative suppliers as required.
  • Coordinate content contributions from Trade, Product Innovation, Certification and regional teams, ensuring all content is accurate, compelling and delivered on schedule.
  • Develop supporting marketing and communications plans to maximise reach and engagement across Woolmark's trade channels.

International Woolmark Prize & Milan Design Week

Support the successful delivery of Woolmark's flagship brand initiatives through effective cross-functional coordination, project management and stakeholder engagement.

  • Facilitate regular cross-functional project meetings, monitor timelines, manage dependencies and ensure all stakeholders are aligned on key milestones, approvals and deliverables.
  • Support the development and delivery of marketing assets, communications, campaign activity and stakeholder engagement throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Track budgets and timelines, providing regular status updates and ensuring issues are identified and resolved proactively.
  • Support the planning and delivery of Woolmark's Milan Design Week activation through project coordination, stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.

Trade Show Marketing & Brand Support

Partner with the Trade Show Manager to develop and deliver marketing and brand collateral that promotes Woolmark's presence at global trade exhibitions and industry events.

  • Collaborate with the Trade Show Manager to plan and deliver marketing and communications activities that support Woolmark's global trade show program.
  • Develop creative briefs and coordinate the production of exhibition branding, marketing collateral, digital assets and promotional materials.
  • Ensure all trade show marketing assets are aligned with Woolmark's global brand strategy, visual identity and campaign priorities.
  • Coordinate with the Content Marketing team to develop compelling trade show messaging and supporting content.
  • Manage production timelines, approvals and supplier deliverables to ensure all marketing assets are delivered on schedule and to a high standard.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

Provide leadership across Woolmark's trade marketing function and foster strong collaboration across the global business.

  • Build strong relationships across Marketing, Product Innovation, Certification and Regional teams.
  • Manage agencies, suppliers and creative partners.
  • Lead regular project meetings and ensure clear communication across stakeholders.
  • Champion best-practice project management and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of the wider Marketing team.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Qualifications

  • Degree at 2:1 or above in Marketing or Communications, or similar discipline preferred

Work Experience

  • Min 7 years previous experience working in a Marketing and Communications role is essential

Technical Skills/Knowledge

  • Fashion specific knowledge required
  • Keen interest in monitoring innovation in the fashion digital and social media landscapes
  • Intermediate+ skills in Microsoft Office particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
