Reproduction

Sheep reproduction is an important focus for the Australian wool industry.

Our research is focused on the main factors influencing the productivity of sheep reproduction, including woolgrower education and best practise management, ewe nutrition and supplementary feeding, mob dynamics and climate variability on sheep reproductive health.

AWI invests in many grower extension programs, and one of the most popular is Lifetime Ewe Management. The Lifetime Ewe Management extension program estimates over 12 million ewes have been managed to best practice since its inception in 2006, representing over 30% of Australia's ewe flock.
