Shearing demonstrations
A proud part of Australia’s rural culture came to the stage when champion shearers Ian Elkins and Jim Murray from TAFE NSW Western Institute showed off their shearing skills, and told a few tales of life in the sheds. Hundreds of children received a lesson from the experts, and tried their own hand at shearing. Five shearing demonstrations were held each day over the two weeks of the Easter Show. TAFE NSW Western Institute is the AWI-preferred shearing and wool handling training provider in NSW.
