The cut panels are first assembled for all parts of the garment, i.e. front bodies (top/under fly), facings, a back, a collar and sleeves for jackets, front/back bodies and a waist band for trousers. Each panel bundle for garment parts is sewn at the same time and every resultant seam is steam pressed. Interlinings or tapes are fused on some panels to enhance the shape retention properties of the garment and any necessary accessories are included at this stage.
Fusible interlinings are very useful for reinforcing and improving the shape retention properties of the jacket and they are carefully fused to the outer fabrics, normally within the temperature range of 130-150 degree C.
