BESTWOOL/BESTLAMB assists producers to decide how they want to lift their farm profitability and productivity.
The program does this by providing the infrastructure for groups to source the learning opportunities and products from the most appropriate service provider for their needs.
The program aims to achieve an average on-farm productivity growth of three per cent a year across the Victorian wool industry between 1998 and 2010.
BESTWOOL/BESTLAMB promotes real practice and productivity change. Analysis showed that:

| Activities |
Group activities range from formal courses running over 12 months to guest speakers, group discussions and pasture variety trials and bloodline comparisons. Topics cover subjects such as genetics, weaner management, grazing management, business analysis, sourcing farm labour, OH&S, succession planning and off-farm investing. |

Group members decide the topics they want to deal with and which approach will help them reach their goals. The groups meet regularly for farm walks, workshops and information sessions to learn more about how to improve their on-farm productivity and business skills of their enterprises. |
