Finding auction lots

To get started and build your worksheet search the AWEX auction database for one of your previous clips.

The auction database is based on all public catalogue information submitted by each wool broker. These are available by the Monday evening of the week of sale and include all auction lots sold from 2002 onwards. Note that interlot and bulk class wools are not included in the database, and dates used refer to when wools were first offered. Reoffered wools are always excluded.

To retrieve auction lots you must enter:

  • Your brand - the first three letters of a brand are mandatory. Spaces and special characters such as a '/' and other symbols are optional, will be ignored when searching but are included in the three letter minimum.
  • One wool classer stencil number. However, more than one stencil number can be entered under one brand. The input of your wool classer stencil number provides security against others viewing your wool sale details. You can find the stencil number on the wool classers' specification, or else contact your wool broker for this information.
  • A date range of when your wool was previously offered at auction. The date range cannot exceed 15 months. Click on the 'Calendar' link to see a detailed calendar.
  • All lots or unsold lots. You may select either all your lots or your unsold lots only. This feature allows you to price unsold lots on a regular basis.

Once you have entered the above information, click on 'Find your lots' to retrieve your lots and create a pricing work sheet.

For lots retrieved from the auction database, placing the mouse over the description will show the wool broker lot number, sale number and sale date.

Search the auction database and retrieve your auction lots.

Errors

If you have entered data incorrectly, or no lots are found, an error message box will be displayed, as well as a question mark next to the incorrect data. Place your mouse over the question mark to see details of the error.
