Woolcheque uses worksheets to store all objective (test results) and subjective (AWEX-ID) information about your wool clip. The worksheet is essentially a table with the lines in your wool clip shown horizontally in rows, similar to a wool broker's account sales. Lines of wool or lots can be added, edited or deleted to build a full representation of your clip, and the whole worksheet can be saved so that you can access it a later date.
Clicking on any underlined words will take you to another page or function within Woolcheque. You may also use the links on the left hand side or bottom to go to a specific page.
To go back to a previous page, either use the Back button on your browser, or click on one of the 'You are here' links. If you go back too far, you may lose the information entered on your worksheet. If so, use the Forward button on your browser to return to your worksheet.
Follow these simple steps to use Woolcheque. Click on the underlined links for more detailed information on each step.
Step 1. Collect the information needed by Woolcheque.
When finding your previous lots sold at auction, you will need to know your brand and wool classer stencil number. You can find the stencil number on the wool classers' specification, or else contact your wool broker for this information.
Otherwise you will need a copy of your account sales or similar document so that you can enter the test results and AWEX-ID for each lot.
Step 2. Create a worksheet.
Choose one of the following options to create a worksheet.
Step 3. Edit the worksheet (optional).
Once you have created your worksheet, you may add, edit or delete specific lots as required. More information.
Step 4. Price the worksheet.
Choose the daily or historical price period required, then click on the 'Calculate wool price' button to display the clean, greasy and estimated dollar value for each lot. Averages and totals are displayed at the bottom. More information.
Please note in some instances, prices cannot be calculated. These lots will show a zero value in red. Place your mouse value over the red zero to display the reason why that lot cannot be priced.
Step 5. Analyse your prices further (optional)
Once your prices have been calculated, a variety of tools are available to further analyse your clip. These include:
Step 6. Save your worksheet for later use (optional)
You may save your worksheet for later use using a special, AWI only, format. This is very useful if you wish to reprice your wool later, or save a partially completed worksheet for further editing. More information.
Alternatively, you can save a worksheet for export to Microsoft Excel or other software products. More information.
