Woolcheque is simple and easy to use with you, the woolgrower, always in control. You can independently price your wool clip with the prices sourced from the national AWEX market reporting system. Woolcheque is available free of charge and does not require the purchase of expensive software.
For more information on how to use each feature, click on an underlined heading below.
Find your clip - saves you time by letting you search the AWEX auction database for your previously sold or offered lots. All your previous results will be on a new worksheet, saving you the time and effort of inputting all your test results.
Daily prices - allows you to independently assess prices using the latest market information. Prices are updated daily and are based on the same pricing mechanism as the AWEX market reporting system.
Historical prices - allows you to price your clip against longer term market averages. This takes out some of the volatility inherent in the daily market and can be useful as a farm management tool, as well as identifying long term price trends.
Prices a wide range of wool - calculates prices on most types of wools sold at auction, including merino, crossbred and superfine wool.
Premiums and Discounts - displays any premiums or discounts that apply to your wool, allowing you to see how these attributes affect your overall return.
Similar lots - this lets you confirm Woolcheque's estimated prices by showing you a listing of similar lots that have recently sold at auction. The lot listing is filtered to only show wools that have similar specifications to your own wool.
Price charts - puts your calculated daily prices in perspective by displaying market prices over the previous 12 months for each lot and the whole clip. The chart displays prices for your actual lot specifications, not a generic chart of similar wools.
Wool characteristics - review information on each wool characteristic, current and historical trends and tips to improve your wool returns.
Save your worksheet - after pricing your clip worksheet, you can save all the lot information to your computer. This lets you return to Woolcheque and reprice your clip worksheet at any time without having to re-enter any data.
Export your worksheet - after pricing your clip worksheet, you can save this as a file for later importing into other software such as Microsoft Excel.
