The Woolmark licensing program covers yarns, fabrics and most articles of clothing, as well as bedding, carpets and upholstery. In addition Woolmark endorse products for apparel care.
To ensure that Woolmark Quality Standards are maintained, the Woolmark Company has developed a comprehensive set of Specifications & Test Methods. These describe, in detail, the requirements for Woolmark approval and the procedures that must be followed in assessing the performance criteria detailed in the Product Specifications. A Quality Assurance program is used to ensure that quality is maintained and that Specifications are interpreted consistently by licensees and test houses worldwide.
As part of the new strategic plan on a two-yearly basis, the Woolmark Company will update the Specifications that apply to products which are marketed under the Woolmark brands. The latest amended Product Specifications took effect on 1 January 2011.
In December 2011 we will further advise our licensees that some Woolmark Specifications will be updated, effective from 1 January 2013.
