A seasonal guide to the best wool fabrics and yarns in the world
The Woolmark Company has created “The Wool Lab” – a seasonal guide to the best wool fabrics and yarns in the world.
It has been produced to offer a collective vision of the ultimate in wool trends for the fashion industry, including brands, retailers, manufacturers, spinners, weavers and the media.
The Wool Lab contains innovative and quality wool products, mixed with precious archive pieces, which have been selected by The Woolmark Company from the collections of some of the world’s leading textile companies. The seasonal guide is organised by macro-trends, sourcing inspiration from fashion, design, lifestyle, music, pop culture and many different fields.
The Woolmark Company is presenting The Wool Lab at the most important textile and fashion trade shows in the world, both inside the company’s exhibiting areas and also through special workshops.
The Wool Lab guide for the autumn/winter 2012-13 retail season was launched at the Pitti Immagine Uomo trade show in Florence, Italy on 14-17 June 2011.

“The Tweed Run” promotional event
To encourage interest from the media and the textile trade in the launch of The Wool Lab, a promotional event was held in Florence on 14 June in partnership with The Tweed Run, a London-based group of stylish bicycle riders that dress in tweed and wool garments.
A special bicycle ride took place across the streets Florence which generated significant media attention for The Woolmark Company and the launch of The Wool Lab (for example, see this Vogue Italia article).
