WOOL PRODUCTION FORECASTS

The AWI Wool Production Forecasting Committee provides the best possible estimates of future sheep numbers for wool production. The committee produces consensus-based, authoritative forecasts of Australian wool production four times per year.

To determine the forecast, the committee uses data from the joint AWI-Meat & Livestock Australia producer surveys, Key Test Data from the Australian Wool Testing Authority and AWI’s own statistical model for forecasting.
