Woolgrowers determine the amount of levy to be paid, and the strategic direction of AWI’s expenditure, every three years through an independent poll, known as WoolPoll.
At the 2009 WoolPoll woolgrowers voted to continue paying a 2% levy to AWI, with 50% to be spent on research and development and 50% on marketing.
AWI’s research and development is further split into On-farm and Off-farm investments. 30% of AWI’s total funding goes towards On-Farm and 20% to Off-Farm research and development activities.
