The AWI "Call for Proposals" is now closed.

Australian Wool Innovation Limited (AWI) has announced its annual ‘Call for Proposals’ for organisations interested in on-farm R&D and off-farm R&D projects with AWI.

AWI is seeking to invest in projects that support our integrated R&D and marketing strategy along the global wool pipeline, from farm to fashion. AWI’s R&D strategic areas over the next three years are:

1. On-farm R&D:
   1. Sheep health, welfare and productivity
   2. Wool harvesting and clip quality
   3. The environment, climate change and carbon
   4. Education and extension
2. Off-farm R&D:
   1. Quality assurance, eco and carbon management
   2. Health and environmental attributes and benefits of wool fibre and products
   3. Performance apparel and safety attributes
   4. Fibre quality, innovation and textile development
   5. Interior textiles and floor coverings
   6. Marketplace extension of fibre knowledge and textile innovation (product marketing)

To help you identify the type of projects AWI would like to invest in, AWI has prepared a table (PDF 43Kb) that sets out the programs in each of these strategic areas as well as the AWI Manager responsible for the areas.

AWI welcomes any project proposals from organisations that will assist it to meet its objectives as set out in its 2010-2013 Strategic Plan (PDF 7.69Mb).

Applicants must submit a full proposal by 12pm, 1 February 2012 using the Project Proposal Response Form (Word 81Kb).
