HK designers' fashion training in Australia

Two award winners from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University's Institute of Textiles and Clothing (ITC) 2010 annual graduation fashion show visited Australia in October.

The winner of The Woolmark Platinum Award, Tina Wong and the winner of the Flinders Merino and AWI Platinum Award, Bel Tse were in Australia to learn more about wool growing, wool processing and merchandising.

Their journey began in Melbourne with visits to AWEX and AWTA to hear about the auctioning of wool and wool processing. They also met with fashion design students from RMIT and designers from Fletcher Jones retail store. They went on to visit farms of Flinders Merino in South Australia to learn about growing wool, shearing and sheep classification.

See a story about the Hong Kong PolyU's awards and Tina's design featured in a WGSN article.
