27 July 2010
During this month's Australian Sheep and Wool Show (16-18 July) in Bendigo, Victoria, the models from the AWI-hosted fashion parade took time out from their catwalk duties and mingled with woolgrowers and their sheep on the showring floor.
Joining the models and woolgrowers were fashion designers Anna Plunkett and Luke Sales (from fashion label Romance Was Born), Therese Rawsthorne and Josephine Nathan (of woolliwoolli).
The idea of the event was to bring sheep, designers, woolgrowers and women of wool into the one room to celebrate wool – bringing the farthest ends of the wool pipeline together.
Australian Wool Innovation is a not-for-profit company owned by over 29,000 Australian woolgrowers.
AWI invests in research, development, innovation and marketing along the global supply chain for Australian wool.
